Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect during my appointment?

During an Ob-Gyn visit, our skilled and experienced staff will bring you to your room and ask a couple questions to get a better understanding of your overall health and discuss any concerns that you may have. Shortly after, a physician will enter and have a one on one session to assist you in anyway they can.

What is InterMed's approach to prenatal care?

We strive to be efficient and provide all or most care in one place and time. We promise to always take the time to listen. We believe in integration between practices and take a team-based approach to your care. Our electronic records make it easy for your primary care physician to share files with your Ob-Gyn care team. We provide access to community service providers, such as Birth Roots and Maine Medical Center.

Does InterMed offer midwifery services?

Yes! Midwifery services are integrated into our Ob-Gyn practice. If you are newly pregnant and interested in learning more, please call our office.

What medications are safe during pregnancy?

Some medications are considered safe to take during pregnancy; the effects of other medications on your unborn baby are unknown.
