Hi, I'm Prema, a family medicine physician at InterMed.

 

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts. In the fall of 2015, I came to Portland for my clinical semester and instantly fell in love with the city. Portland holds a special place in my heart as it's where I met my husband. Medical school and residency took us all over the country, but our hearts were always in Maine. That's why we decided to come back to the place where our family's story began.

 

I always knew I wanted to be a physician, but it wasn't until my clinical rotations that I realized my passion for family medicine. I love caring for people of all ages, from newborns to the elderly and building long-term relationships with my patients. I'm excited to start my career at InterMed and provide care to a community that means so much to me.

 

My husband and I live in Scarborough with our 2-year-old daughter, 3-month-old son and a 5-year-old golden retriever yellow lab mix, Lucky. Outside of work, we enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, camping, traveling and spending time with our loved ones.
