Roger A. Poitras, DHA
Chief Executive Officer

Roger brings over 35 years of combined clinical, operational and business development experience to the team. In addition to his previous roles as the Chief Practice Officer at MaineGeneral Health and a Chief Strategy Officer with Ascension Health (Florida and Alabama), Roger has led regional and national organizations in the areas of Acute/Tertiary Care; Ambulatory Services; Medical Group Management; Home Health; Retail Health; Assisted Living and Long-term Care. Roger received his clinical training at the Florida Hospital School of Nursing; an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Central Florida; a Master of Health Services Management and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University; a Master of Human Resources from Rollins College; and a Doctorate in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. Roger and his wife, Georgia, been married for over 35 years and have raised two daughters.

Theresa Falcon, MHA
Chief Operating Officer

Theresa is InterMed’s Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall clinical and business operations of the practice. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Villanova University and her master’s in health administration from Johns Hopkins University. Before joining InterMed in 2020 as Director of Strategic Operations, Theresa worked for several years in system development at MaineHealth. Following her graduate education, Theresa worked in Chicago, where she gained experience in software clinical implementation and advisory services at Strata Decision Technology and in patient throughput and labor productivity improvement at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She holds a Green Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma.

William Ferentz, CPA, CFA
Chief Financial Officer

Bill joined InterMed as Chief Financial Officer in 2021 and oversees all the operational and strategic financial functions of the practice. Having earned his business degree from the University of Maine, he started his career at what is now Ernst & Young and subsequently transitioned his technical and analytical skills to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maine/Anthem. After many years at Spectrum Healthcare Partners in the lead financial position, he spent several years consulting as a CFO for a wide range of clients. He earned his CPA license in 1988 and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1996. Bill is a native Mainer and enjoys time with his family, being outdoors, and making furniture.

Wai-Houng Leung
Chief Information Officer

Wai brings more than 20 years of information technology and 15 years of healthcare experience to his role of Chief Information Officer. He has administrative and strategic oversight of Information Technology and Business Intelligence. He joined InterMed in 2020 as Director of Information Technology and was elevated to CIO in 2023. Wai finds InterMed an inspiring place to bring together his passions for technology, supporting his community and providing the best experience for patients. Wai, a native Mainer, serves on the board of the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland. He enjoys skiing, golf and spending time with his family.

Stephanie Mills, JD
Chief Legal and Compliance Officer

Stephanie is InterMed’s Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, overseeing diverse aspects of the practice from medical/legal and corporate compliance to health plan relations and coding education. She earned her undergraduate degrees in biology and environmental science from Tufts University, and her J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law. Before joining InterMed in 2015, Stephanie had a private litigation practice followed by three years as a health care contract negotiator with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Stephanie and her husband, Paddy, live in Brunswick, and have four children, ages 7 through 21.

Lindsay Fitzgerald
Chief Human Resource Officer

Lindsay M. Fitzgerald, SCHRM-SCP, CSP brings over 20 years of extensive experience in human resources, coupled with more than 15 years in leadership roles across diverse industries including healthcare, hospitality, retail and staffing. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maine at Orono. She is known for expertise in building cohesive teams, enhancing retention and engagement, managing employee relations, and driving workforce development and change management initiatives. Originally from Massachusetts, Lindsay moved to Maine in 1995 and has since become deeply rooted in the community. She cherishes Maine summers, particularly enjoying time spent at the beach and near or on the water with her husband and two children. Lindsay holds a proven track record of fostering a positive work culture and implementing strategic HR initiatives that align with organizational goals. She is committed to driving excellence in people management and contributing to the growth and success of InterMed, P.A.
