We are currently experiencing a technical issue that is impacting our ability to receive faxes. As a result, clinical documentation and prescription requests sent via fax may not be received. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, though we do not yet have an estimated time for resolution. In the meantime, we encourage patients to use the patient portal for prescription refill requests or to call your primary care provider for any urgent needs. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to restore our systems.

Referral and Medication FAQs

How long does it take to get a referral to a specialist?

Typical turnaround time for a referral request is 7-10 business days from when your PCP or specialist has entered your referral order.

All urgent referrals are processed within 24-48 hours of receipt.

If 10 days have passed since your PCP or specialist initiated the referral, please wait to hear from the specialty office to which you were referred. If 14 or more days have passed, you may call the specialty office directly.

You can find the specialty office information by accessing your MyInterMed portal account and viewing the referrals section.

Can I check on my referral request electronically?

Yes. You can access referral information and status through MyInterMed, our patient portal.

You can also request a medication renewal, send a message to our team and directly access a limited set of your records, including your immunizations, through the Healow app.

How long will my prescription renewal request take?

We strive to process all routine, non-urgent prescription renewal requests within 48-72 business hours from receipt.
