My name is Sean Shields, and I am a physical therapist and practice manager for InterMed Physical Therapy.
I grew up in Vermont before heading south to study health and exercise science at Wake Forest University. Following my college education, I chased my future wife up to Maine, where I proceeded to complete my doctorate in physical therapy at the University of New England.
I have spent my career primarily as an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist. In 2017, I gained additional accreditation as a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy. My past roles include managing multiple therapy sites, serving as the on-campus physical therapist for the University of Maine-Farmington and Bates College and treating all types of conditions in ages ranging from 3 months to 101 years old (that patient rocked!).
I joined InterMed due to its devotion towards putting the patient above all.
In my free time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, fishing and struggling at golf. I live in Cumberland with my two beautiful, mischievous children and wonderful wife.
