My name is Dr. Sean Lena and I'm excited to be a part of the Internal Medicine team.

I am a graduate of Middlebury College. I completed my pre-medical, post-baccalaureate education at the University of Southern Maine before attending the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.

At UNE, I received numerous honors and accolades, including the Arnold P. Gold Foundation for Humanism in Medicine Honor Society, which recognizes students and physicians who exemplify humanistic care in medicine.

I was also honored with three research fellowships, including one to study the efficacy of wilderness first aid training for community leaders in South Sudan, Africa, as well as a Doctors for Maine’s Future Scholarship.

After graduating from medical school, I joined the Internal Medicine Residency program at Maine Medical Center. In 2018, I was selected to participate in a program to improve the health, wellness and care coordination of New Mainers in Greater Portland.

I am also the Co-President of the House Staff Quality and Safety Committee and have served on the Resident Wellness Committee.

My hobbies include cooking, running, camping, climbing, Nordic and telemark skiing.
