Sadie Carter, MD

Hi, my name is Sadie Carter and I am a board-certified emergency medicine physician.  

After working in ERs around the state of Maine, I am happy to be a part of the InterMed Urgent Care team. Nobody plans a trip to ER or Urgent Care but I think that our unique background as ER doctors makes us adept at helping people navigate acute health care needs. I am excited to offer a different way to stay connected with your primary doctor, even when your needs fall outside typical office appointments.

I grew up internationally and never expected to settle in one place but after undergraduate and a brief stint teaching high school in Australia, I found myself doing a one-month student rotation at MMC during medical school.  I was excited to match for residency here and have never looked back. I quickly realized Maine was a great place to live and raise kids.  

When I am not at work, you may see me around town with my husband, son and daughter. We have had some great adventures as a family traveling around the world but are always happy to return to our "little corner."

You may find me out on the water, fighting weeds in our flower beds, covered in paint or glue from my most recent project or curled up somewhere with a book and one of our various pets - a golden retriever, a furry Maine coon and a hairless sphynx.
