We are currently experiencing a technical issue that is impacting our ability to receive faxes. As a result, clinical documentation and prescription requests sent via fax may not be received. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, though we do not yet have an estimated time for resolution. In the meantime, we encourage patients to use the patient portal for prescription refill requests or to call your primary care provider for any urgent needs. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to restore our systems.

My name is Richard King and I am a general surgeon. I was drawn to pursuing a medical career because of my desire to make a real difference in the lives of individuals. Surgery is direct intervention to make people well.

The most rewarding aspect of my job is witnessing a person who would most certainly die without surgical intervention and see them walk out of the hospital.

I look forward to working closely with my InterMed primary care partners to help them decide on surgery for their patients, working toward the best possible outcomes.

When I am not working, I enjoy sailing in Casco Bay and hiking and skiing in the Rangeley Lakes area.
