My name is Lila Martin and I am a cardiologist. I am very excited to partner with InterMed to take care of patients with cardiovascular disease.

It’s in the family – my father was one of the founding partners at InterMed and practiced family medicine at the Yarmouth office for many years. Growing up in Maine, my very first job was at InterMed as a summer intern helping the practice transition to their first electronic medical record!

I went to Tufts University School of Medicine where I concurrently obtained a Doctor of Medicine and Masters in Public Health (MD/MPH) with a concentration in health economics. I did my residency training through Harvard at Massachusetts General Hospital and fellowship in cardiovascular disease also through Harvard at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. During my training, I had the privilege to serve as chief cardiology fellow and was a clinical fellow in medicine at Harvard Medical School.

After 10 years in Boston, I couldn’t wait to move back home to care for the people of Maine. I have specific interests in medical education, cardiovascular imaging, and am the director of the Women’s Heart Health program at MaineHealth.

InterMed is where my family goes to receive medical care and I couldn’t be more thrilled by the collaboration between MaineHealth and InterMed.
