Growing up in central Pennsylvania, my father, a family doctor in our small town, was my inspiration. I knew at an early age I wanted to be a physician.
After graduating from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 2010, I moved to Pittsburgh for residency in family medicine. I then chose to do a fellowship in geriatric medicine because I was drawn to the patients, their stories and their complex medical care.
In Pittsburgh, I met my wife who is from New England and we decided to move to Maine in order to be closer to family, nature and the ocean. Some of my earliest memories are from living on the coast of Maine in Winter Harbor while my father was stationed there in the Navy and so in many ways this feels like a homecoming.
Prior to joining InterMed, I practiced in Pittsburgh for 13 years at UMPC St. Margaret Hospital, acting as geriatric fellowship associate program director, core clinical faculty and medical director of our outpatient geriatric office and nursing home.
I am looking forward to now focusing on outpatient medical care and helping patients and caregivers navigate health decisions and interactions with our medical system while aging. I developed an interest in lifestyle medicine and on achieving not just a long life, but a healthy lifespan.
Outside of medicine I enjoy spending time with my family, travel, live music and bicycle touring. I also love basketball and am a proud alum of St. Joseph’s University Women’s Basketball in Philadelphia. Go Hawks!
