We are currently experiencing a technical issue that is impacting our ability to receive faxes. As a result, clinical documentation and prescription requests sent via fax may not be received. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, though we do not yet have an estimated time for resolution. In the meantime, we encourage patients to use the patient portal for prescription refill requests or to call your primary care provider for any urgent needs. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to restore our systems.

My name is Elsa Deeran and I am an obstetrician/gynecologist. Having grown up in the Portland area, I am over the moon to return to this wonderful state and join InterMed Obstetrics and Gynecology.

I spent the previous five years in Denver for residency at University of Colorado, followed by private practice. At an early age, a serendipitous combination of inspiring middle school science teachers and a love of the show "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" called me to a career in medicine.

In medical school at Tuft University’s Maine Track program, I learned what an honor it is to take care of individuals during some of the most celebrated, as well as sensitive, times in their lives. The strength of people in our community inspires me to go to work every day.

I love being an Ob-Gyn because I get to partner with patients to help them take care of their changing bodies. I strive to have each patient leave their appointment knowing that we have collaborated to create their individualized plan, as well as feeling that their whole self was seen and heard.

Outside of work, I like to be in motion! I enjoy getting into the mountains to backcountry ski and mountain bike. I am looking forward to getting reacquainted with Casco Bay.
