We are currently experiencing a technical issue that is impacting our ability to receive faxes. As a result, clinical documentation and prescription requests sent via fax may not be received. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, though we do not yet have an estimated time for resolution. In the meantime, we encourage patients to use the patient portal for prescription refill requests or to call your primary care provider for any urgent needs. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to restore our systems.

My name is Angela Pizzo Tillotson and I am a board-certified family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

I obtained my master’s in nursing from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in 2003 and also have a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bates College.

My drive to provide compassionate, patient-centered care is the reason I became a nurse practitioner. I enjoy building the patient-provider relationship and believe that listening and empathy are key components to providing quality care.

My goal is to give patients the tools they need to make the necessary changes in their life to promote health and prevent illness.

I worked as a nurse practitioner in an endocrinology practice for 12 years and it is exciting to be able to bring my expertise in diabetes to the patients at InterMed.

I was drawn to diabetes care because of my passion for teaching; there are not many diagnoses that require so much time, energy and attention from a patient. I also have a special interest in gestational diabetes and part of my role at InterMed is to provide onsite diabetes services to our pregnant patients.

I live with my husband and son in Portland. As native Mainers, we love all that this state has to offer, from outdoor activities – skiing, hiking and taking in ocean or lake air – to the arts. I love music, whether going to a concert, playing an instrument or attending a favorite dance class. I cannot resist good choreography!
