InterMed Laboratory offers a wide variety of comprehensive, dependable and quality medical diagnostics to support our patient's health needs.

 

Our experienced medical laboratory technicians and medical laboratory scientists are nationally certified and our lab is a College of American Pathologist (CAP) and CLIA accredited diagnostic laboratory. We provide lab services for more than 115,000 patient visits a year and perform more than 1.6 million tests annually.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Quest Diagnostics (For non-InterMed patients) and InterMed Laboratory draw sites do not accept walk-ins, please schedule an appointment at 207-774-5816.

What is the estimated turn-around-time for my tests?

Estimated turn-around-time for all in house laboratory tests is about 1-4 days. General turn-around-time for testing that needs to be sent out to a reference laboratory such as Quest, LabCorp, Integrated Genetics, NorDx, or Mayo, could be 7-14 days.

Can I view my results in my Patient Portal?

Intermed patients will receive an automated email notification when test results are ready to be viewed in your patient portal. Quest patients will have their results reported to the ordering provider directly from Quest. Your ordering provider can call Quest client support to request lab results at 1-800-842-1412 option (6) if they did not receive results or if there are other questions.

Additional Billing Information

You may receive a bill for laboratory tests performed outside of InterMed from the reference lab that performed the testing. Billing concerns from the reference labs must be addressed with the reference lab.

Quest Patient Information

Please advise InterMed staff that you are a Quest patient while making your appointment. Please bring printed lab order to your lab appointment or have it faxed, 48 hours prior, to 207-523-8588. Your physician can also email your lab orders to orders@intermed.com. Unfortunately, we cannot access orders via the Quest phone app. or other Quest software.

Does InterMed accept electronic Quest orders?

InterMed does not accept electronic Quest orders. Please bring a printed lab order with your physician's signature and appropriate diagnosis codes to your appointment or have it faxed to (207) 523-8588 at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. InterMed does not receive results for Quest patients outside of our practice, they will be sent directly from Quest to the ordering physician.
