We are currently experiencing a technical issue that is impacting our ability to receive faxes. As a result, clinical documentation and prescription requests sent via fax may not be received. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, though we do not yet have an estimated time for resolution. In the meantime, we encourage patients to use the patient portal for prescription refill requests or to call your primary care provider for any urgent needs. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to restore our systems.

InterMed Board Members

InterMed is a physician-owned and physician-run medical group founded on the goals of patient-centered primary care enhanced by integrated specialty services.

Our board is composed of physicians, which means that when it comes to patient care, our doctors are involved in every decision along the way.

Phyllidia Ku-Ruth, MD, President

I was born and raised outside of Philadelphia and met my husband in medical school. We came to Maine together for our residency training and loved Portland so much that we never left! It’s been such a joy and honor to be part of my patient’s lives as their primary care physician - I have been taking care of some of my patients since I finished training back in 2000. I joined InterMed’s department of Internal Medicine in 2004, and every day I’m grateful for the wonderful people with whom I work – they are what makes InterMed special. It is has been an honor to serve as InterMed’s President since 2015 and to be part of the important work we do in improving the health and wellness of each and every one of our patients.

Daniel Loiselle, MD, Chief Medical Officer

My name is Dan Loiselle, and I have been practicing internal medicine at InterMed since finishing my training in 1998. I was raised in the Bangor area, attended Bowdoin College and graduated from Dartmouth Medical School in 1995.

Scott Patch, MD, Treasurer

My name is Scott Patch, and I’m a family physician. I’ve been practicing medicine since 2001, first with the Central Maine Medical Center and then with InterMed. As a family physician, I am interested in collaborating with my patients and their families to help them reach their desired health goals.

Julie McFarland, MD, Secretary

I grew up in Bar Harbor, Maine. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a physician. After attending Brown University for both my undergraduate and medical education, I could not have been more pleased to return to Maine to complete my residency and join InterMed OBGYN. I am proud to be part of InterMed where patient care is the center of all we do. Serving on the Board of Directors has allowed me to fully participate in the decisions that allow us to live out that mission. In this physician owned and led organization, one of our greatest strengths is the ability to work with other physicians across disciplines to ensure we deliver the highest quality care to every patient, every time. It is an honor to serve the people of Maine through the care we provide.

Kenneth Galeckas, MD, FACMS, FAAD

As a surgical sub-specialist, I remain committed to our motto “Care without Compromise.” Patients can often feel a gap between Primary and Specialty care. As a Board Director of a physician-owned and led organization, I enjoy being able to contribute to the overall strategy and policies that integrate the care of our patients. Access to specialists can be tough in Maine and being able to influence decisions that expand our care team is very motivating. InterMed, and the community that we serve are stronger together!

Robin Noble, MD, MHCDS, MSCP, FACOG, OBGYN, Medical Director Ambulatory Surgery Center

I am currently a practicing gynecologist at InterMed and have been with the organization for more than twenty years. I am a certified specialist in menopausal care and lifestyle medicine with an educational background and training at Yale and Columbia, along with a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. However, my recent focus has shifted towards the evolving landscape of healthcare delivery. I completed a master’s degree in healthcare delivery science at Dartmouth, as well as a physician wellness program at Stanford. I bring my energy, enthusiasm, and unique perspective to the Board of Directors. Working alongside talented and dedicated individuals who share a passion for providing exceptional healthcare to the people of Maine has been a true honor. My goal is to ensure that our company adapts and grows to meet the diverse needs of our patients, community, employees, and physicians in innovative ways.

Kristy Pulsifer, DO

My name is Kristy Murray-Pulsifer. My residency director said "pick one name," so most people know me as Dr. Pulsifer. I have been practicing medicine in the Greater Portland area since 1993, and joined InterMed in 1997. As a family physician, I feel so blessed to spend time with patients, families, even generations. I was a science teacher before med school, and continue to teach students and residents. I have raised my own family, a son who is a ski coach in Colorado and a daughter who teaches here in Maine. Family is a big deal! I have staff that I have worked with for 20 plus years. How much more family practice could there be?

Andrew Tenenbaum, DO

I am a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing in Portland since 2006. I love working in all aspects of pediatrics, from newborns to adolescents. There is nothing better than building relationships with my patients and their families through the years. I grew up outside of Philadelphia, went to school at the University of Virginia, worked in Boston for several years and eventually discovered Maine when I went to medical school at the University of New England. In addition to pediatrics in Maine, I have a strong interest in international pediatrics and work with various health groups in Central America and Africa for a few weeks each year.

Margaret Zamboni, DO

I was drawn to the Board of Directors for multiple reasons. This opportunity allows me to represent my patients and my fellow physicians and staff and have a voice in decisions that aim to provide the highest quality care for our patients, a great working environment for our staff, as well as building a model of healthcare delivery that is sustainable and successful into the future.

James Zeitlin, MD

I have been practicing internal medicine for nearly 25 years. Though I have spent the majority of my professional career at InterMed, before coming to work here I gained invaluable experience as a doctor by serving in the U.S. Army. After completing my residency at the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, I joined InterMed in 1997 and have since been continually astounded by the common desire to deliver the highest quality healthcare to our patients. My ultimate goal as an internist is to help my patients avoid illnesses and improve their wellness, but in the event that they should need treatment, I strive to provide them with the best care I can possibly give. In my career, I value the importance of respecting each patient as an individual with unique needs. The long-term relationships that develop in primary care are extremely satisfying, and constantly remind me why I chose this specialty. There’s nothing more fulfilling than watching a patient achieve a goal that you both set and worked towards together.
